Classes

Sewing Machine and Basic Sewing Kit required for all classes unless otherwise stated.
Basic Sewing Kit: Rotary Cutter, Threads, Pins, Safety Pins, Small Scissors/Snips, Fabric Scissors. We encourage optional items as well such as a mat and ruler. If you need to use one of our sewing machines, please call ahead to reserve. 
Fuse, Fold & Stitch Rug

Applique 101

Interested in learning every step of the quilting process? In this series, Chelce will have you piecing, trying different applique techniques, layering your quilt sandwich, domestic quilting using a walking foot, and binding. You will enjoy the journey once a month in January, February and March by pushing yourself to complete this cute project from start to finish. What a great winter project! Come Tuesday and learn pattern reading and cutting in preparation for Saturday Jan. 30th where you will piece the project together. Chelce will share how to match your seams on an angle and press to create a flat fun snowflake throw quilt.

Blocking with Kyle

What is blocking and why should I do it to my quilt? Kyle will provide supplies and walk you through the entire process to block one of your own completely bound small projects (no larger than 36?x36?). Begin laying out, spritzing and pinning to a blocking board, then come the following day to pick up your project flat, square and ready for display. You will leave this class with a new 4? x 4? blocking board and string line. Mandatory kit fee $25.

Longarm Gridwork

Domestic Quilting 101

Learn the process of creating and stabilizing a quilt sandwich before quilting through all 3 layers. We will use a walking foot for most quilting but bring your free motion foot to learn some tips and tricks of free motion too. Mandatory supply fee of $5.00 covers fusible batting.

New to sewing or in need of a good refresher? Join others and learn the parts of your sewing machine, how to thread and wind a bobbin, straight stitch and good practices while sewing. You will work on a tube-style pillow case as your final project (1 yard main printed fabric; ⅓ yard of complementing fabric, sewing machine, thread, snips, rotary cutter and mat).

Modern Mystery with Lynn Heald

Don?t miss this limited space class with Lynn! Her mystery classes are not only organized and informative but such a blast that you will want another. This class was scheduled for the Quilt festival but cancelled due to COVID. Her kit colors are peacock or blue/mustard. Everything is precut and ready for you to embrace this cool modern mystery. Binding 101

Interested in learning multiple ways to bind a project? This is the class for you. Chelce will go over how to make traditional binding and attach prior to hand stitching or machine stitching it down. She will share how to trim and square your project as well as other ways to finish the edge so you can choose which method is your favorite. Mandatory supply fee of $5.00 for sample quilt sandwich for practice.
